A Fun Fast Holiday gift you can make yourself or Eat!
Who doesn’t love giving and getting presents?! Especially ones you can nibble on! I came across this quick and easy reciepe from the foodnetwork.com website and have already made it several times this year! Remember those street vendors selling hot fresh candied nuts that cost a fortune for a tiny little bag? Well now you can make your own! It’s super easy and what a great little hostess gift or party favor for friends. Enjoy!
Makes 3 cups
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of flour
1 large egg white
3 cups of nuts (I like to use pecans and almonds)
*I also like to throw in cinannamon to taste!
~Preheat oven to 175 degrees. In a medium bowl, mix together the sugar and flour
~In a large bowl, beat the egg white until foamy; whisk in the brown sugar and flour mixture, and cinnamon. Fold in the nuts.
~Transfer the nuts to a parchment-paper-lined baking sheet and bake for 1.5 hours. Let cool completely before breaking apart.

Quick and Easy Derby Pie Recipe for the Holidays
Many people enjoy a nice pecan pie around Thanksgiving and Christmas, and it’s not uncommon to see one at family festivities at my house. Because, if you’re like me, you need your dessert to have some Chocolate in it!! So here is a easy, delicious southern recipe that takes a traditional pecan pie, and puts a yummy chocolate twist to it. And the best part, it’s super easy! In fact, I’m bringing one to Thanksgiving again this year.
1 6 oz. bag of Chocolate Chips (sometimes I use a few more!)
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of flour
2 eggs
1 stick of melted butter
1 tsp. of vanilla
1 cup of chopped pecans
Melt butter and cool completely. Mix all ingredients together and pour into a pie shell. (If you don’t have time for one from scratch, I love to use “All Ready” pie crusts). Tastes like homemade.
Bake 45 min.-1 hour depending on your oven at 325 degrees.
Serve with Cool Whip, and Enjoy!
